'Breast cancer patients at Zaans MC are offered vital information in the form of Divis'

Stephanie van Lunteren is an AGZ nurse specialist at Zaans Medical Center and already has extensive experience with Indiveo.
You see patients don't read everything, but they don't understand everything either
Stephanie van Lunteren is an AGZ nurse specialist at the Zaans Medical Center and already has a lot of experience with Indiveo. "For quite some time I have been working on digitizing care," Stephanie explains. "Within my field, we give a lot of information to our patients, in a short and intensive period of their lives. That information doesn't stick, even though it is essential information. That's why our patients were given a lot of information on paper. Not ideal either. You see that patients don't read everything, but they don't understand everything either. I also think that as healthcare providers we talk too quickly in jargon. That's why Divis are so great. Those contain short animated videos with understandable language."
Automatic periodic checks
Stephanie and her colleagues recently started working with Indiveo's new review environment. According to Stephanie, the review environment ensures continuity and the quality of Divi's is well monitored with it. "Because of the different roles of checker and editor and the periodic checks, you never forget to adjust a Divi when needed," Stephanie states.
Reviewing and checking Divis
Before Divis are sent to patients, they must be made ready for use. In fact, Divis can be assembled as you wish. "We distribute the Divis among a number of colleagues. The one with the most know-how of a subject is given respective Divi to review. After reviewing the Divi and adjusting it where necessary, we can publish them and send them to patients," Stephanie says. "It's not a lot of work, it's investing time in a sustainable solution for properly informing your patients."
"When patients are well informed, procedures generally run better. Patients know what to expect, what is expected of them and when to raise the alarm if there are problems. In addition, patients also report that they are less nervous before certain tests."

Do you have any tips for caregivers just starting out with Indiveo?
"Involve the colleagues who are going to work with it from the beginning. And show the effects!" says Stephanie. "When patients are well informed, procedures generally run better. Patients know what to expect, what is expected of them and when to raise the alarm when problems arise. In addition, patients also report that they are less nervous before certain tests."
Keeping track of who sends the most
Stephanie also has a great tip for motivating colleagues: "The first year I kept score of who sent the most Divis to patients. Always fun when you're in the top five."
