About this Divi

A colposcopy is a keyhole examination of the cervix. For this, the gynecologist uses a modified microscope (called a colposcope). A colposcopy allows the gynecologist to look for abnormal cells in the lining of the cervix.

This Divi discusses preparation for the examination, the course of the examination and what the patient may and may not do after the examination. Sometimes tissue is taken during the examination. In the Divi, in-depth information explains the tissue examination that can be performed in a laboratory.
