About this Divi

This Divi explains what a fluorescence-guided sentinel lymph node procedure is and why this examination is performed. The patient learns that the doctor will examine whether cancer has spread to the lymph nodes using a special dye that glows. Attention is paid to preparing for the operation, injecting the dye, locating and removing the sentinel lymph node, and further examination of this gland. The recovery and possible consequences of the procedure are also discussed.
