About this Divi

In a lumbar puncture, the doctor pricks a thin hollow needle between two vertebrae in the lower back to remove some cerebrospinal fluid. Cerebrospinal fluid is a colorless liquid that surrounds the brain and spinal cord. Because the cerebrospinal fluid is connected to the brain, abnormalities of the brain can be examined through this fluid.

This Divi contains an animation about the course of lumbar puncture. In addition, patients are explained about preparation, aftercare and the risk of complications.
