How Covid-19 can finally make us prosper

These are extraordinary and exciting times worldwide! The impact of this virus on our lives is unprecedented. A few months ago there was seemingly nothing to worry about. Covid-19 did not yet exist, but was in the making in the Far East. Once the RNA formed, the brilliant viral property of human-to-human transmission emerged. And so Covid-19 was able to flourish.
Acting acutely in a crisis
The virus has been able to prepare for some time in China. While we humans, on the other hand, have hardly been able to prepare for a pandemic like this one. It became an emergency and we react as our nature does in emergencies, namely acutely.
In hospitals, large numbers of patients come at us in a short period of time. With dire consequences. We healthcare providers have to make far-reaching decisions and the logistical challenges are numerous. In the process, necessary resources are scarce, making for difficult choices in the workplace.
Moving on to the recovery phase
We hope that the peak of new infections will soon be over and we can move on to the next phase, the recovery phase. In an unfavorable scenario, that may take some time, and recovery will undoubtedly take a long time. Shrapnel and debris must be cleaned up, supplies and resources replenished, and humanly speaking, the physical and psychological blows must be processed together.
Looking forward to thriving
Once we get through the recovery phase, the phase I am looking forward to will follow. The third phase: flourishing, because after the virus has flourished, it is time for us. This is because the crisis also leads to new insights, rapid decision-making and changes in processes. The trick is to hold on to these positive developments! A world with new opportunities. No matter how difficult that prospect may seem now.
With a new confidence, we can ultimately benefit from all the changes we are now making at a rapid pace. Because suddenly we turned out to be able to adapt at lightning speed, to make decisions, to implement ehealth, to be able to slow down the virus and, as a result, flourish even now with each other.
