Indiveo Inside: Margot Strobbe

First experience in healthcare
In addition to creative training, Margot has worked at the hospital in the past as an outpatient clinic assistant. "Here I gained a lot of experience in contact with patients. I was able to feel the tension of some patients and hear the questions they ask," Margot says. At Indiveo, she can combine her creative side and her love for care: "this way I can contribute to good care for everyone, without having to be on the front line."
Seeing what happens
Although Margot says she does not like "dirty and gory," she did not hesitate for a moment when Isala asked her to watch a fundoplication (diaphragm rupture surgery). She was at Isala to ask the health care providers the ropes about the procedure so she could incorporate the right information into the Divi's script, but ended up in the OR to see for herself.
"Watching along with the surgery gives such a good idea of what we need to convey with our animations. Many people have never been in an OR before, so when we can show what it's like in a good and understandable way, it gives patients peace of mind. In addition, when watching along, it is striking that there is a big difference between what is important to a healthcare provider and what is important to a patient."
From information to comprehensible Divi
Using all the information Margot gathers, she sets to work writing the scripts for the Divis. She shares the first draft with the team and together they then start thinking about which images best convey this information. "It's important to think in metaphors and think together about what associations you first make with certain words or terms," she says. Once there is a first draft of what the Divi should look like, all the information is checked by the caregivers. This way, it is always certain that the information in the Divi's content is correct.
That Margot has heart for her work is clear: "It is a very nice platform, with which we can take care of everyone in our society. With correct and understandable information, you make sure everyone can make good choices. It would be so nice if we could start using Indiveo for more than just healthcare."
