Deepening visual stories for Izore
The challenge
As a laboratory, Izore contributes to patient care every day. This work usually takes place behind the scenes and is hardly visible to patients. Yet the medical laboratory has a direct impact on the care process for patients. Think, for example, of waiting times for a specific result or having to donate tissue again for an examination. To show patients what goes on in the medical laboratory, Izore asked us to translate a number of processes into understandable visual stories.
Approach
Izore's work is considered in-depth information within Indiveo. This means that this information is of interest to patients who want to know more in a targeted way. Patients will therefore find an additional tab with in-depth information in the Divis. In this tab, various additional sources of information can be added.
Result
Together with Izore, two visual stories were developed. These stories have been added to various relevance Divis and are used by Izore itself as information on its own website. The following visual stories have been delivered:
Sputum culture
With a condition of the airways or lungs, such as a respiratory infection or pneumonia, extra mucus may be produced deep in the airways. This sputum may be coughed up. To find out what is causing the extra mucus production, the sputum may be examined in a laboratory for disease-causing viruses and bacteria.
Molecular diagnostics
In the laboratory, body material is examined using molecular techniques to detect and identify abnormalities in, for example, tumor cells.
