Scientific research for lung patients explained.

Physician-researcher Louisa Spaans & lead researcher/lung surgeon Frank van den Broek of the Máxima Medical Center.
Background and purpose of the study
Keyhole surgery in which part of the lung is removed is a procedure in which about two-thirds of patients experience pain after surgery. The purpose of the OPtriAL study is to investigate the best technique to treat pain after keyhole surgery.
During the study, the following techniques to treat pain are examined:
- An epidural
- Continuous local analgesia
- One-time local analgesia

Divi replaces the textual folder
In order to properly inform lung patients eligible for this study, the specialists at the Máxima Medical Center and Lung Cancer Netherlands created a comprehensive patient information leaflet. However, this textual leaflet became too bulky so a different format was chosen.
Working with physician-researcher Louisa Spaans, principal investigator/lung surgeon Frank van den Broek and two patients, Indiveo set to work translating textual patient information into an understandable animation.
"I think it's a nice and clear video.
More manageable than pages of text."

A comprehensible explanation in 3 minutes
The Divi shows how the OPtriAL study is structured and what different forms of pain management can be used. With the Divi, researchers can rely on an easy-to-understand explanation of the scientific study. This saves researchers time and gives patients a clear picture of the study in 3 minutes.
With clear explanations, patients can make a better decision whether or not to participate in the OPtriAL study.
