About this Divi

With a bronchoscopy, the doctor examines your airways for abnormalities. A bronchoscope is a thin flexible tube with a camera that the doctor inserts into the airways. The bronchoscope can also be used to take a small piece of tissue or aspirate mucus (sputum) for further testing in the laboratory.

In this Divi, the course of the examination is explained with an animation. In addition, you will read more about the preparation and aftercare of bronchoscopy. The in-depth information then explains how the tissue examination and sputum examination proceed.
