About this Divi

Hospitals conduct medical-scientific research. Medical scientific research takes place to find better treatments for diseases, learn more about a disease or how the body works, or find better ways to detect a disease.

To conduct good medical-scientific research, researchers often need subjects. That is why they ask patients in the hospital to participate in a study. It is important that test subjects clearly understand what medical scientific research is and what rights and obligations they have in the process. In the Divi "participating in a medical-scientific study" patients are explained exactly what participating in such a study entails. They are informed of their rights and obligations and how their data will be handled. This enables patients to decide whether they want to participate in medical research.
