The patient has chronic nasal sinusitis or recurrent inflammation of the nasal sinuses. Sometimes nasal polyps are also present. Despite previous treatments, the symptoms persist. Therefore, the patient receives an FESS: endoscopic surgery on the nasal sinuses. This surgery improves the drainage of fluid from the sinuses, reducing or eliminating the symptoms.
