About this Divi
With a malignant tumor in the breast, cancer cells can metastasize to the lymph nodes. The sentinel gland is located in the armpit and is the first gland where metastases from the tumor end up. The sentinel gland procedure is a method for detecting possible metastases of malignant cancer cells in the axillary lymph nodes in breast cancer.
The Divi explains the exact procedure and the techniques used to find the sentinel node. These techniques are explained in detail to the patient in the Divi. The Divi also explains the preparation and aftercare for the thyroid gland procedure.
