About this Divi
A sigmoidoscopy is a keyhole examination of the last part of the colon. During a sigmoidoscopy, the doctor may directly remove tissue for examination. The Divi sigmoidoscopy explains to the patient how the keyhole examination works and what happens when the keyhole is inserted into the body.
For the examination to proceed properly, the last part of the colon must be empty. The patient is therefore explained in the Divi how this is done. In addition, information is also given in this Divi about the other preparation and aftercare of the examination.
