About this Divi
Every human being has a nervous system. This is made up of millions of nerve cells that are connected by nerve pathways. Around these nerve pathways in the brain and spinal cord is a layer that insulates and protects. This layer is called myelin. In Multiple Sclerosis, also called MS, inflammation develops in this layer around the nerve pathways.
In people with MS, new symptoms can suddenly appear or existing symptoms suddenly get worse. This is called a relapse or relapse. A relapse is caused by new inflammation. This Divi explains exactly what a relapse is and how people recognize a relapse.
Importantly, the Divi also explains the phenomenon of pseudoscales. For MS patients, it is sometimes difficult to know whether their condition is a scale or a pseudo-scale. The Divi helps them make this distinction.
